This role is for someone who can see around corners.

The mission (what you’ll actually do)

You will own procurement strategy across construction and long-lead items, aligning vendor selection, contract terms, and delivery timelines with the master schedule.

You will:

Build and manage procurement plans for all major packages (materials, equipment, systems).
Identify and secure long-lead items early to protect schedule.
Negotiate vendor contracts: pricing, delivery terms, quality standards, and risk allocation.
Create vendor strategy: dual-sourcing, alternates, standardization, substitution playbooks.
Track submittals, approvals, lead times, and delivery performance.
Coordinate tightly with preconstruction, construction, MEP, and finance to keep commitments real.

Profile we’re looking for (non-negotiables)

7–15+ years in construction procurement / supply chain / sourcing for complex projects.
Strong negotiation ability and vendor management discipline.
Proven experience managing long-lead risk and substitution strategies without quality collapse.
Comfortable with cost, schedule, and technical coordination.

What you’ll build in your first 90 days

A procurement roadmap tied to the construction schedule (with long-lead protection baked in).
A vendor ecosystem strategy: preferred vendors, alternates, and risk-ranked packages.
A commitments tracking system: what’s ordered, what’s at risk, what’s slipping, what’s substitutable.
A procurement cadence with precon + construction so surprises don’t happen.
