IoT and Embedded Systems Lead

Elysium’s City OS touches the physical world: doors, sensors, access, safety systems, and environmental telemetry.

We need someone who can make hardware and software behave like one system—securely and reliably.

The mission (what you’ll actually do)

You will own the IoT/embedded layer and its integration into the City OS: device selection, firmware, security, and operational reliability.

You will:

Architect the device ecosystem: smart locks, access control interfaces, sensors, gateways, telemetry.
Lead integration from firmware to cloud to app: provisioning, updates, monitoring, fault recovery.
Own IoT security: device identity, encryption, secure boot/update paths, threat models.
Build operational workflows: device installation, maintenance, replacement, and support.
Coordinate with facilities/security teams to ensure real-world usability.

Profile we’re looking for (non-negotiables)

8–15+ years in embedded systems and IoT, with production deployments.
Strong firmware + networking + cloud integration knowledge.
Security-first mindset for physical access systems.
Practical field instincts: designs for installation and maintenance, not just lab performance.

What you’ll build in your first 90 days

Device architecture and vendor strategy aligned to launch needs.
Provisioning and monitoring pipeline with operational runbooks.
Security and update strategy that prevents device chaos.
A deployment plan that scales beyond the pilot site.
