The mission (what you’ll actually do)

You will build the measurement and optimization layer of the City OS: analytics, experimentation, and models that improve resident experience and operational efficiency.

You will:

Build the analytics foundation: event tracking, data pipelines, dashboards, KPI definitions.
Define experimentation systems: A/B tests, operational experiments, causal measurement.
Develop optimization models: forecasting, scheduling efficiency, anomaly detection, resource planning.
Partner with product and operations to tie data to real decisions.
Establish data governance: privacy-aware instrumentation and secure data access.

Profile we’re looking for (non-negotiables)

8–15+ years in data/analytics/ML leadership with production impact.
Strong fundamentals: data modeling, pipelines, instrumentation, experimentation rigor.
Able to work across messy real-world domains (ops + physical systems + software).
Pragmatic ML mindset: uses the simplest model that works and improves it with data.

What you’ll build in your first 90 days

A KPI framework for “high experience yield” with measurable signals.
A clean instrumentation and data pipeline plan for the City OS.
Dashboards that operators actually use daily.
The first optimization loop: one system improved measurably (energy, scheduling, mobility, or service ops).
