CTO (City OS / ECM architecture)

Apply Now
Remote

Elysium is building a new category: experiential real estate communities—a living system where housing, food, energy, mobility, and a “City OS” work together to create high experience yield.

The City OS (ECM) is not a side app. It’s the control layer that makes the physical world feel seamless: membership, dues, scheduling, events, access control, IoT, and rewards/tokenized flows.

This role is for someone who wants to architect something that doesn’t exist yet—and ship it into reality.

The mission (what you’ll actually do)

You will own the architecture, roadmap, and delivery of the Elysium City OS end-to-end.

You will:

  • Define the system architecture across resident app + operator tools + back-end services.
  • Own identity and access orchestration (auth, permissions, audit trails, integrations with physical access).
  • Drive the IoT integration layer (locks, sensors, environmental and energy telemetry) as a first-class citizen.
  • Build the rewards/tokenized flows in a way that is secure, compliant, and actually usable by normal people.
  • Establish engineering standards: reliability, security, observability, performance, and velocity.
  • Hire and build the top 1% technical core.

Profile we’re looking for (non-negotiables)

  • 10–15+ years engineering leadership; has shipped 0→1 systems in production with real users.
  • Strong systems architect: can design simple primitives that scale without fragility.
  • Experience across at least 2 of these domains: fintech/payments, identity/access, IoT, distributed systems, security.
  • Deep bias for shipping: builds the smallest version that works and hardens it with data.

What you’ll build in your first 90 days

  • A clear v1 architecture: services, data flows, device integrations, security model.
  • An MVP scope ladder: what ships for the village launch vs what waits.
  • A delivery engine: teams, cadence, CI/CD, instrumentation, incident playbooks.
  • The foundation for a scalable “multi-city” operating system.
